School Business Manager - 30 or 37 hours per week - Grade 7 (Grade negotiable for the right candidate)

Hours - 30 hrs - 8.15 am - 4.15 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday OR

Hours - 37 hrs - 8.15am - 4.15 pm Monday - Thursday and 8.15 am - 3.45 pm Friday, term time only.

The Governors of Saughall All Saints C of E Primary School wish to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and motivated individual with relevant financial experience for the role of School Business Manager to start in July/ September 2024. We can offer either a 30hr or 37hr contract, please see hours of work for both alternatives above. 

If you have experience in a school as a current or aspiring School Business Manager or can bring high quality transferable skills from a business environment we would welcome your application.

Our school needs an outstanding person with the necessary expertise to deal with the challenges of managing Finance and Administration, HR and Health and Safety. Alongside the leadership of the school office, you will be responsible for managing our in-house catering team and overseeing premises management. The School Business Manager will collaborate closely with the Headteacher, Governors and Senior Leaders to support the strategic development and continued improvement of the school.  We are therefore looking for someone who is highly motivated, flexible and organised.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent organisation and communication skills;
  • Experience and skills in administration and financial management;
  • A high level of IT literacy (knowledge of a range of systems including Office, SIMS, online payment and other Local Authority systems desirable)
  • A relevant professional qualification in school business management or equivalent, or willingness to study towards gaining the qualification.
  • Excellent financial and analytical skills, with the ability to prepare and monitor budgets, reports and forecasts.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, governors, parents, and external stakeholders
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to manage your own time effectively as well as good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • An ability to embrace new challenges and the energy, drive, resilience, talent and determination to make a real difference for our children.
  • A commitment to the vision and values of the school.
