Do you have a background in plumbing, woodwork or general 'handy-work' or DIY?

We are looking for someone to work, initially on a temporary basis, with the potential of the role becoming a permanent role for the right candidate. This role is ideally suited to somebody who has experience in maintenance.

The role will be 52 weeks per year, Monday - Friday, hours and shifts are negotiable (max 25 hours per week).

Your main duties and responsibilities would include but are not limited to the following:

  • Undertaking site checks and record keeping
  • Managing the security (including unlocking/locking) and health/safety of the school site
  • Undertaking some cleaning/waste removal responsibilities
  • Undertake basic maintenance tasks in the school for example changing light bulbs, erecting shelves, painting and redecorating, minor plumbing.
  • Cleaning duties including collecting litter, emptying bins and some vacuuming.
  • Porterage of heavy objects for example stock, furniture or equipment.
  • Ensuring the school has sufficient stock of cleaning resources.
  • Overseeing of external contractors visiting the school site.
  • Overseeing the cyclical maintenance in the school and grounds

Various training courses will be offered including Safeguarding, Health & Safety and Legionella testing.

The ideal candidate would have the ability to relate well to children and adults alike.

Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate will complete background referencing checks including a DBS check
