Teaching Assistant Specialist Skills (Including Class Cover)
Full Time 37 hours, Term Time Only 39 weeks: Grade 6 - Actual Salary - £22,420 - £24,829
FTE £25,979 - £28,770 (Pro-Rata)
The Bridge Short Stay School are looking to appoint two Teaching Assistants who will play a key role in the pastoral and academic support of Secondary aged students who display challenging behaviour. This role will involve supporting individuals and groups both within lessons and delivering withdrawal interventions for targeted students and cover of lessons in the absence of teaching staff.
One post would be particularly suited to an individual with a passion for outdoor learning and contributing to our learning outside the classroom and Duke of Edinburgh programmes. In both cases the ability to support students with their learning, social and behavioural needs is essential.
The Bridge primarily caters for students who have been permanently excluded from mainstream schools, we are passionate about providing a second chance for students who have struggled in their education and putting them on a pathway towards future success. The work is challenging and requires someone who can maintain a focus on the best interests of the student while demonstrating flexibility and resilience under pressure. In return the successful candidate would be supported in joining a committed and friendly team with the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people. This post would be an ideal opportunity for an individual who is seeking experience ahead of a career in Teaching.
