We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, positive and hard-working Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team of staff at Wheelock Primary School.

The position will primarily be supporting a child who will be in KS2 on a 1 to 1 basis, but will also involve other 1 to 1 and small group work both inside and outside the classroom, as directed by the class teacher. The position is offered on a temporary basis, and the contract will be linked to the child’s attendance at the school and will be terminated if they were to leave. The position available is to start on 22nd January 2023

Experience of working with children with SEND would be an advantage. A nurturing and inclusive approach is essential. They are expected to be well organised and flexible with high expectations of attainment, achievement and behaviour and have a drive to make a difference to the education of all pupils. They will have excellent communication skills and evidence of continued professional development.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of our successful and forward-thinking primary school. Wheelock is part of the Learning for Life Partnership Multi Academy Trust (MAT) and the Trust offers outstanding opportunities for peer learning and development.

We particularly welcome applications from black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates, LGBTQ+ candidates and candidates with disabilities because we would like to increase the representation of these groups at the Learning for Life Partnership. We want to do this because we know greater diversity will lead to even greater outcomes for children.

This post is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced Disclosure Certificate. Stringent Checks and Vetting Procedures apply to all posts as part of our Safeguarding Policy.

In return we will offer the successful candidate:
