Teaching Assistant PRIMARY (with SEN)  AAAD5028

Temporary (for academic year 2023-24 initially): 28.75 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

Grade 5

Huntington Community Primary School

The Governors of this happy and successful primary school (retained Ofsted ‘Good’ grade, June 2023) seek to appoint an experienced and confident Teaching Assistant who can support lower KS2 children with SEMH needs, and provide targeted English and Maths interventions for small groups of KS2 pupils. We are looking for a team player who has relevant, recent experience, high expectations and a commitment to ensure that the children they support achieve their potential. Applicants should have the ability to identify and support pupils’ needs proactively: particular understanding of the following would be beneficial – ADHD, Pathways to Progress, White Rose Maths. Excellent interpersonal skills are a prerequisite of the post, and a willingness to contribute positively to our team and to become involved in the wider aspects of school life is also important.

Huntington Community Primary School places the highest priority on the safeguarding of children and all applicants will follow a stringent vetting and induction process, including online searches on shortlisted candidates. As this post involves contact with, and access to children, it will be subject to an enhanced DBS check: any offer of employment will be conditional upon the outcome of this check. You must provide the names and addresses of two referees on your application form.

Candidates are encouraged to research our website to gain an understanding of the school. The closing date is 12 noon on Tuesday, November 21st, after which shortlisted candidates will be contacted to arrange an interview.

This post, commencing as soon as possible, is initially for the academic year 2023-24.
