School Bursar

Grade 6 SCP 12 – 17: £22,696 -£24,713 to reflect Term Time Only (13 weeks holiday).

Starting as soon as possible.

Full time, 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

The Governors of Hurdsfield Primary School wish to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and motivated individual with relevant financial experience for the role of School Bursar.

If you have experience in a school as a current or aspiring School Bursar or can bring high quality transferable skills from a business environment we would welcome your application.

Our school needs an outstanding person with the necessary expertise to deal with the challenges of managing Finance and Administration, HR and Health and Safety. The Bursar will collaborate closely with the Headteacher, Governors and Senior Leaders to support the strategic development and continued improvement of the school.  We are therefore looking for someone who is highly motivated, flexible and organised.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent organisation and communication skills;
  • Experience and skills in administration and financial management;
  • A high level of IT literacy (knowledge of a range of systems including Office, Arbor, and other Local Authority systems desirable)
  • Experience of working within a school is beneficial.
  • The ability to prepare and monitor budgets, reports and forecasts.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with staff, governors, parents, and external stakeholders
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to manage your own time effectively as well as good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • An ability to embrace new challenges and the energy, drive, resilience, talent and determination to make a real difference for our children.
  • A commitment to the vision and values of the school.
