Blacon High School – More than a school

Blacon High School is seeking a highly organised, personable and proactive Administrative Assistant to join our committed team of support staff. This role is essential to the smooth day-to-day operation of the school, working closely with staff, students, parents and visitors to support a wide range of administrative, reception and welfare duties.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing general administrative support to attendance and SEND, including letters, schedules, review notes and updates.
  • Maintaining up-to-date student records including contact information and SEND files.
  • Organising and administering school trips, including costings, bookings and payments.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for telephone and reception enquiries.
  • Supporting pupil welfare by overseeing pupil reception and dealing with health and wellbeing matters.
  • Managing student sign-in/out processes, issuing detentions and distributing items such as FSM tokens, uniform and passes.
  • Providing full reprographics support and high-quality document production for staff linked to attendance and SEND meetings.
  • Supporting with parent communications, job application packs, school forms and fire register processes.
  • Support with the administration of Subject Access requests
