Teaching Assistant (KS1 SEND Support) – Grade 4
16.25 hours per week (8:45am – 12:00pm, every morning)
38 weeks per year (term time only)
Start Date: January 2026 or as soon as possible. 12 month contract initially.

Weaver Primary School is looking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to support children in Key Stage 1 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

About the Role:

• Supporting pupils in KS1 with SEND on a one-to-one and small group basis.
• Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised support and strategies.
• Helping children to access learning, develop independence and build confidence.
• Promoting positive relationships and supporting children’s social and emotional development.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience of supporting children with SEND (desirable).
• Is patient, resilient and adaptable to children’s individual needs.
• Can work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with staff and families.
• Holds a relevant qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent).
