Role: Midday Assistant

Location: Barnton Community Nursery & Primary School

Salary: Grade 2 SCP 2

Actual Salary Pro-Rata: £5,554 per annum (pro rata to £24,412 full time equivalent)

Contract: Fixed term until 31.08.2026 but may become permanent

Hours: 10 per week, lunchtimes Monday - Friday (term time only, 38 weeks per year) 11.15am - 1.15pm daily

Start Date: 20^th April 2026 ideally

The Headteacher and governors of Barnton Community Nursery & Primary School would like to appoint a Midday Assistant to join our committed and enthusiastic team.

As always, we are looking for a friendly, caring person with plenty of energy who can join our hardworking team in helping to make lunchtimes safe, fun and happy for our children.

The successful candidate will:

• Ensure the safety and well-being of pupils during lunchtime;
• Arrange and support age – appropriate activities during lunchtime, including indoor activities when the weather prevents children playing outside;
• Be responsible and motivated.
