Blacon High School – More than a school

We are looking to appoint a Learning Mentor to work with Year 7 and provide pastoral support to students across Key Stage 3 and 4.  The person will support individuals around social and emotional issues and removing barriers to progress and will work closly with Progress Leader.

Learning Mentors act as positive role models and enthusiastic team players with excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate others. The key for success within this role is the ability to listen, to have compassion and to form positive relationships that will help students to meet their full academic potential.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to make a significant change to the lives of  learners.  A background in coaching, welfare, mentoring or parental work with young people  would be helpful but key is the ability to listen, to have compassion and to form positive relationships that will help students to meet their full academic potential.
