Hinderton School is a thriving 61-place, autism-specific primary special school. The school was judged 'Outstanding' in all areas by Ofsted in 2023 and is proudly accredited by the National Autistic Society with Advanced Specialist Status.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious teacher to develop their classroom skills within a highly specialist environment. You will be teaching in small classes, heavily supported by experienced teaching assistants, enabling high-quality, deeply personalised teaching and care. While initial placement will suit your strengths, the successful candidate will be expected to teach across the 3-11 age range in the future.

We are looking to recruit a teacher who:

  • Works effectively as part of a collaborative, friendly, and highly supportive team.
  • Has a strong commitment to inclusion and meeting the unique needs of every child.
  • Is well-organised, flexible, adaptable, and a reflective practitioner.
  • Has high expectations of attainment, achievement, and behaviour.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Has a genuine passion for supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

Experience of working with children with ASC is highly desirable.

In return, Hinderton School offers:

  • A comprehensive, bespoke induction and a formal programme of autism-specific training.
  • An opportunity for self-development and career enrichment in a highly successful school.
  • A welcoming, hardworking, dedicated, and deeply supportive staff team.
  • A highly supportive and committed governing body.

Safeguarding & Welfare

Hinderton School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. All members of staff will be expected to uphold the highest standards of pupil safeguarding and confidentiality.
