About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and dedicated Playworker to join our new wrap-around childcare team. In this role, you will help provide a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment for primary school children after their structured school day ends. You will focus on fostering social development through creative, inclusive, and child-led play.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and engage children in fun, age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Support delivery of creative play sessions, including arts, crafts, and sports.
  • Support preparation and serving of healthy afternoon snacks while adhering to food allergy guidelines.
  • Maintain safety standards by monitoring play spaces and managing pupil sign-outs.
  • Apply safeguarding policies consistently to protect the welfare of all pupils.
  • Build positive relationships with attending children, school staff, parents, and carers.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: Prior experience working with children aged 4–11 is preferred.
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare, Playwork, or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
  • Certifications: Current Paediatric First Aid and Food Hygiene certificates are an advantage.
  • Core Competencies: Excellent communication, strong teamwork, and a patient, nurturing approach.
